In July 2015, Nabisco/Mondelēz announced it had chosen to invest an additional $130 million in its new $400 million plant in Salinas, Mexico, instead of investing that money in its iconic Nabisco bakery in Chicago. As a result, 600 workers in Chicago have lost their jobs. An entire community is devastated. And Nabisco products that used to be made by the Chicago workers are now made in Mexico and sent back to the United States for American consumers.
In ONE minute….watch this video to see the faces of the Nabisco 600, hear the story, and feel the emotional impact of the greed behind Nabisco/Mondelēz.
