In a letter to Local 300 members at the company’s iconic Nabisco plant in Chicago, the plant manager sent a letter to all workers explaining that Mondelēz had decided to invest in its Salinas facility and move production from Chicago:
“I recognize that this news is very difficult for our employees in Chicago to hear and will impact many at this site. We are announcing this investment nearly a year in advance of the full investment coming online, and our focus right now is on treating all employees affected by this decision with the respect and dignity you deserve.”
